"Then, the new battery lasted all day with the settings I mentioned above. It dropped 10% charge about every two hours to 2.5 hours. That means that it could run an entire day on this new standard battery. Yes!"

That's the best we can hope for? One day of use without a recharge? Sorry, but that still sucks.

A few quick comments. First called this blog "Droid Story" demeans the Droid. By associating this device with the Disney movie Toy Story makes it seem that this is more of a toy, and not a device made for serious users and business. Awful choice.
A much better name, site and information content would be any of these : dailydroidblog.com ; thedroidblog.com , etc. Also your use of what I must assume you think is cute and casual verbiage (things like : "Howdy" and "see ya around") again demean us intelligent and professional Droid users.

Second by posting an entry which at first suggests that the Droid has battery issues. Yes you clear it up later (admitting that you should have realized it sooner that it was defective), but in today's fast paced quick Google world, many won't read past 3 or 4 paragraphs and your blog gives the impression that you believe there IS a problem with the Droid's battery. I have also had my Droid since 7am the first day, and have NO problems whatsoever with the battery life.

Saw your twitter post on #android. Nice to see so many new people in the android game. The battery life is something that has plagued g1 users since day one. Since you didn't mention this in your otherwise expansive review, maybe I can help you out. If you long press on the background and go the widgets menu, there's one called battery bar. This allows you flip your gps, wifi, syncing and screen brightness leves on/off with a quick press. Unless actively using them, make sure your gps and wifi stay off. Those things suck battery life like woah. I keep my phones screen on the lowest brightness level unless I'm showing it off or need the full glory for something.

Personally the biggest battery eater for me is that I'm constantly pulling it out of my pocket and waking it up to stare at it and grin from ear to ear.

Congrats on your droid, I just bought my mom one. Interested to see what drops next on tmobile with a keyboard, or I might just switch.
