Verizon Offers Early Upgrade to Droid
by sm on Nov.13, 2009, under Carriers, News
Want a shiny new Droid, but are not eligible for a phone upgrade yet? Verizon is making it easier. Just be careful and avoid buyers remorse in December when more new Android phones are expected to arrive. Of course, there is always the 30 day return window…not that I’m suggesting anything.

Worked like a charm. Called up and claimed I got an email offer, no questions asked, 9 day next day shipping, I'll have my Droid tomorrow.

Are there any exclusions based on the date of the last upgrade?

As always, it probably depends on a number of factors. If Verizon can sell you a brand new 2 year data plan, you are probably good to go. If you just got a new Blackberry or other (Verizon subsidized) smartphone with data plan a couple of months ago then you might be out of luck. Also, keep in mind the new early termination penalties that apply: http://www.cnet.com/8301-17918_1-10390758-85.html
Just call them to find out.
