It looks like there is another delay for the 2.1 OTA update. After just announcing the impending update on their website days ago, Verizon seems to have pulled the plug for now.
The 3/18 OTA software update will not happen as planned. A new date will be announced as soon as possible.

Nexus One Now Available for AT&T and Rogers 3G
by sm on Mar.16, 2010, under Carriers, Devices, News
You can now get a Nexus One from the Google phone store that is compatible with AT&T’s 3G frequency bands.
To clarify: Even though T-Mobile and AT&T are both using the GSM standard for their mobile networks the radio frequencies for their 3G data networks are different. For the consumer, that means you’ll need to buy a carrier specific phone in order to get 3G access .
A Verizon CDMA version should become available within days. I think this is the first time that the same phone (name, packaging) will be available on three different every major US mobile network. This should make things really interesting on eBay as people buying used Nexus One’s will have to make extra certain they are getting the one that works with their chosen mobile provider.
Update: Sprint just announced that they will also be getting the Nexus One.

Lates ComScore: Android Is Gaining Fast
by sm on Mar.11, 2010, under Misc, News
No wonder Apple is getting more aggressive in trying to protect its turf. The latest quarterly report provided by digital metrics company ComScore shows a sizable increase in Android’s mobile market share. While the Google Mobile OS still dwarfs compared to RIM and Apple in overall market share, its momentum is impressive. This trend is unlikely to slow down anytime soon, given the incredible number of new Android handsets being released this Spring.
Android increased 4.3% to capture 7.1% of the market, while RIM had a small growth spurt of 1.7% from the previous quarter, but enough to maintain its sizable lead over Apple, which came in flat at 25.1%.
At this point anybody’s gain is coming clearly at the expense of WinMo and Palm.
