No Droid tethering until 2010?!

Now that’s a downer!
Gearlog reports: Verizon’s “Broadband Access Connect”, which allows you to use your phone as a broadband modem for your laptop, wont be available until sometime later in 2010. For an extra $15/month, this service has been available for Blackberry’s and other smartphones on the Verizon network for years.
Why not for Droid? In fact, I was hoping for Wi-Fi tethering instead of the USB or Bluetooth connect used on the other phones.
